Classe 1970, nasce ad Erice (Tp), il borgo sospeso tra cielo e terra. In quell’isola che il giudice Paolo Borsellino definiva una “terra bellissima e disgraziata”. Era il giorno del suo 44° compleanno e mancavano sei giorni a Natale quando ha avuto la conferma di avere un compagno di vita, il Parkinson, che lo accompagnerà fino al suo ultimo respiro.
“Mai mollare” diventa il suo mantra che ripete spesso non solo a se stesso ma anche a chi ha bisogno di una mano per rialzarsi. È convinto che la condivisione, il parlare, l’essere NOI, aiutano ad evitare l’isolamento che sfocia spesso in depressione, nel lasciarsi andare.
Born in 1970 in Erice (Trapani), the ancient hilltop town suspended between sky and earth, on the island that Judge Paolo Borsellino once described as “a beautiful and unfortunate land.”
It was on his 44th birthday, just six days before Christmas, that he received confirmation that he would have a lifelong companion: Parkinson’s disease, which will accompany him for the rest of his life.
“Never give up” became his mantra, a phrase he repeats not only to himself but also to anyone who needs a helping hand to get back on their feet. He firmly believes that sharing experiences, talking openly, and being part of a “we” can help prevent the isolation that so often leads to depression and resignation.
